Colleague Rich “Spitz” Spedialiere provides the following update on his sports talk and football broadcasts for this season on WENG Radio:
(Englewood, FL) WENG radio, heard on 107.5 FM as well as 1530 AM is introducing their line-up of sports shows for the upcoming football season.
The station airs the popular “Spitz on Sports” sports talk show hosted by Rich Spedaliere Monday thru Thursday from 5-6 pm, which will continue. In addition, the “D J Ogilvie Show” will return for its 3rd season from 6-7 pm on Mondays and will originate live from Norma Jeans in Englewood. On Tuesdays from 6-7pm, the “North Port Coach’s Show” is back for its 2nd season originating live from Buffalo Rings and Wings at the corner of Price and Toledo Blade in North Port. The “WENG Sports Roundtable” will debut Wednesday nights from 6-7 pm hosted by Guy Wehman. That show will emanate from our Englewood studios to start but will eventually be live from the new End Zone Sports Bar on South McCall Road in Englewood. Thursdays from 6-7 pm “Talking Venice Indian Football” with Coach John Peacock returns for its 7th season and will be live at Bogey’s Sports Bar and Grill on the corner of Venice Avenue and Bypass 41 in Venice.
As for our football coverage, new this season will be the “WENG Tailgate Radio Show” which begins at 6 pm starting on August 28th hosted by Rich Spedaliere and Guy Wehman. It will feature reports from the biggest games by reporters on scene in a whip around format. The show will be 30 minutes in length when the Lemon Bay kickoff is at 7pm and 60 minutes in length when the Lemon Bay kickoff is at 7:30.
Lemon Bay football will be heard live again this season with Rich Spedaliere and Ray LaBadie bringing you all of the action. The pregame show airs 30 minutes before scheduled kick-off and begins this Friday August 21st with the kickoff classic vs. East Lee County at 6:30pm.
North Port football can also be heard on WENG Radio on a tape delay basis this season with Guy Wehman and Sean Hill bringing you the play-by-play. Games will air Saturdays at noon.
