(Sarasota, FL) The Baltimore Orioles will host a tour of Ed Smith Stadium for youths participating in the W.O.W. (Widen Our World) Camp organized by Brothers and Sisters Doing the Right Thing, a Sarasota-based nonprofit, on Friday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A dozen boys and girls, ages 13 to 17, will tour the stadium, meet Orioles players, and enjoy a Gulf Coast League game along with lunch catered by the Orioles.

Brothers and Sisters Doing the Right Thing is a charitable organization located in the Newtown area of Sarasota. The W.O.W. Camp seeks to bridge communities to build strong relationships that help teens succeed.

“Our W.O.W. Camp exposes young people from Newtown to potential careers they might otherwise never consider,” said Alice F. Jones, a volunteer who coordinates the nonprofit. “There are so many aspects of sports beyond the playing field, and we hope a behind-the-scenes look at professional baseball will widen their horizons.”

“When Alice Jones contacted us, we had an opportunity to learn more about her organization’s work with young people in the Newtown community,” said David Rovine, Vice President for Orioles-Sarasota. “We are grateful for the opportunity to hopefully broaden the perspective of teens who are on the verge of choosing their path in life.”

The Orioles are hosting the tour as part of Sarasota 365, a wide range of initiatives through which the Baltimore Orioles and OriolesREACH demonstrate the ball club’s year-round engagement with the Greater Sarasota community.
