CBS Sports Network adds Doug Gottlieb radio show to simulcast schedule beginning August 25

(New York, N.Y.) CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour home of CBS Sports, will expand its live weekday studio programming with the addition of “The Doug Gottlieb Show.” The afternoon show broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Radio will be simulcast on CBS Sports Network beginning Monday, August 25. The three-hour program is hosted by Doug Gottlieb live Monday-Friday from 3:00-6:00 PM, ET.

“The Doug Gottlieb Show” debuted on January 2, 2013, and features national sports talk, headlines, and interviews with current and former sports icons, as well as newsmakers from the sports world and listener phone calls. The CBS Sports Network show will originate from the CBS Sports Radio studios in New York City.

“Adding The Doug Gottlieb Show greatly strengthens our afternoon line-up adding three hours of live and relevant content each day,” said Dan Weinberg, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS Sports. “Doug’s show is high-energy, insightful and entertaining and we are excited to extend the reach of his radio show to the CBS Sports Network television audience.”

Gottlieb currently serves as a studio and game analyst for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network’s coverage of college basketball, in addition to his hosting duties of “The Doug Gottlieb Show” on CBS Sports Radio. Additionally, he serves as an anchor of “CBS Sports Minute,” a 60-second commentary related to the hot topics in sports.

CBS Sports Announces NFL Broadcast Teams for 2014 Season

(New York, N.Y.) The CBS Television Network will begin its 55th year of broadcasting the NFL with Jim Nantz, Phil Simms and Tracy Wolfson leading THE NFL ON CBS into the Network’s 2014 NFL season. Nantz, Simms and Wolfson will call the full slate of Thursday Night Football games on CBS and the NFL Network, along with selected Sunday games on CBS. Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports, and Executive Producer, THE NFL ON CBS, announced today several changes to the 2014 announcer line-up along with the complete list of broadcast pairings.

Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts have been named THE NFL ON CBS’s No. 2 announce team and will call the network’s top game on Sundays when Nantz and Simms do not call a game.

Wolfson, who served as the Network’s lead college football reporter for the past 10 years, will join the lead announce team of Nantz and Simms as THE NFL ON CBS lead reporter. In addition to Wolfson, THE NFL ON CBS will use additional sideline reporters during the season including Jenny Dell and Evan Washburn.

Other pairings this season include Greg Gumbel teaming up with newcomer Trent Green, Kevin Harlan with Rich Gannon, Spero Dedes with Solomon Wilcots, and Andrew Catalon forming a three-man booth with Steve Tasker and Steve Beuerlein.

James Brown once again will anchor the CBS Television Network’s pre-game studio show, THE NFL TODAY, along with analysts Boomer Esiason, Bill Cowher, and newcomers Tony Gonzalez and Bart Scott, from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City. Jason La Canfora will continue to serve as the “NFL Insider.”

WENG Radio to broadcast Venice Indians spring football game Friday night

(Sarasota, FL) WENG AM 1530 and FM 107.5 will broadcast the Venice Indians vs. Lakeland Dreadnaughts spring football game live from Powell-Davis Stadium on Friday, May 23rd. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the pre-game show. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.  Rich Spedaliere will call the play-by-play.
