Sarasota Millionaires Football To Return in 2016/17 Season

(Sarasota, FL) The Suncoast Millionaires formally known as the Sarasota Millionaires have announced the return of the team for the upcoming 2016/2017 season. Combines and tryouts are scheduled for Saturday October 22nd and 29th, and Saturday November 5th from 7pm to 9pm, at The Robert Taylor Complex 1845 34th Street Sarasota, Fl. 34234.

Registration will begin at 6:30pm and those wanting to participate are encouraged to be there 30 minutes prior to the scheduled combine/tryout. Registration fee will be $35. All players must wear black shorts and bring both tennis shoes and cleats. A Suncoast Millionaires T-shirt will be given to those with paid registration.

The team also announced the return of Ex-NFL player Earnest P. Givins Jr. as head coach of the highly accomplished minor league football team.

As an ex-NFL star, Givins brings a wealth of talent and athletic insight to a team notable for their past winning spirit. His professional career began in 1986 as a wide receiver with the Houston Oilers when picked in the second round of the NFL 1986 draft. 9 of Givins’ 10 seasons in the NFL were played with the Oilers which included a two-time selection for the 1990 and 1992 Pro Bowl. Givins’ career stats include 571 receptions, 8,215 receiving yards, and 49 touchdowns.

The Suncoast Millionaires will once again play in the Florida Football Alliance, one of the top minor football leagues in the United States. The league’s regular season runs from January to May.

dougmilesmedia To Broadcast Alliance Bowl VIII between Miami Bulls and SW Florida Gladiators May 30th

(Sarasota, FL) dougmilesmedia.com is proud to announce it will be the broadcast platform for Alliance Bowl VIII on Saturday May 30th at 6PM (EDT). Doug Miles will call the Florida Football Alliance championship game between the Miami Bulls and Southwest Florida Gladiators from Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium.

Doug Miles has been the play-by-play announcer for the Sarasota Millionaires games since the team’s inception in 2004. The Millionaires took the 2015 season off to restructure and combined players with the former Bradenton Gladiators to form the Southwest Florida Gladiators this season.

The Gladiators finished the regular season with a record of 8-2 to win the FFA’s NFC Central division while the Miami Bulls also had an 8-2 record to capture the AFC South division.

Sarasota Millionaires to take 2015 season off; Plan to return in 2016

(Sarasota, FL) The Sarasota Millionaires minor league football team released an announcement Wednesday that it will not play in the 2015 season. The team, which had been part of the Florida Football Alliance last year, plans to resume play in 2016. The following announcement was posted on the team’s Facebook page:

The Sarasota Millionaires Organization has decided to take the year off from “Football”. All other operations will continue (ex. community activities, mentoring, voluntary work outs, etc.)

Co owner of the Millionaires Calvin Williams has accepted the role of Commissioner for the Florida Football Alliance this upcoming 2015 season.

As for the role of commissioner and team co owner, it was decided and best for both roles not to be involved within one person.

“I am happy about spending more time with my family. I am motivated to enhancing minor league football with my new position as the commissioner of Florida Football Alliance. I am excited about the direction of new ownership for the program. (details to follow) The Sarasota Millionaires has been proven to be one of the greater organizations in the state of Florida and will continue to be even greater in the near future”, said Calvin Williams.
