Bradenton Marauders Announce 2019 Schedule for 10th Season

(BRADENTON, FL) The Bradenton Marauders today announced their schedule for the 2019 Florida State League season. The High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates kicks off its 10th season at LECOM Park on Saturday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. against the St. Lucie Mets (New York Mets). The Marauders begin the campaign two days earlier against the Mets in Port St. Lucie.

Bradenton will host 71 games at LECOM Park in 2019. The Marauders will contend in the South Division with the Charlotte Stone Crabs (Tampa Bay Rays), Fort Myers Miracle (Minnesota Twins), Jupiter Hammerheads (Miami Marlins), Palm Beach Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals), and the Mets. The Marauders have qualified for the playoffs four times in the franchise’s first nine seasons, and captured the franchise’s first Florida State League championship in 2016.

The Florida State League utilizes an unbalanced schedule, creating plenty of opportunities for fans to see top prospects from North Division teams. Bradenton’s North Division opponents include the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia Phillies), Daytona Tortugas (Cincinnati Reds), Dunedin Blue Jays (Toronto Blue Jays), Florida Fire Frogs (Atlanta Braves), Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit Tigers), and Tampa Yankees (New York Yankees).

Bradenton’s annual Patriotic Celebration and Independence Day fireworks show will take place on Wednesday, July 3. The Marauders will host the Jupiter Hammerheads at 6:30 p.m. The spectacular post-game pyrotechnic display will be one of the can’t miss events on the Suncoast this summer.

Marauders home games will start at 6:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and at 1:00 p.m. for Sunday home games. There will be four 10:30 a.m. games at LECOM Park. The first 10:30 a.m. game will be Education Day on Wednesday, April 10. The Marauders will also host 10:30 a.m. Camp Day games on Wednesday, June 12 and Wednesday, July 17. The team will also host a 10:30 a.m. game on Thursday, July 4.

Bradenton Marauders Set Event Schedule for Opening Week 2015

(Bradenton, FL) The Bradenton Marauders kick off the 2015 season, the club’s sixth at McKechnie Field, next week. Marauders players will be introduced to the fans for the first time at a pair of events on Tuesday, April 7. The team’s home opener is Saturday, April 11 against the St. Lucie Mets, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and the first pitch of the season at 6:30 p.m.

Marauders fans have their first chance to meet the Marauders at Tarpon Pointe Grill and Tiki Bar on April 7. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and will be attended by every player and the coaching staff. There is no cover charge to enter the event. Tarpon Pointe will offer a $5 Tarpon Chips with a draft beer or fountain soda.

The Marauders open the season on the road on Thursday, April 9 against the Mets. The two teams square off at Tradition Field on April 9 and April 10 at 6:30 p.m., before shifting the series to McKechnie Field for the weekend. Marauders season ticket holders can attend road games for free by presenting their season ticket holder ID card.

The Second Annual Pirates and Princesses 5K Home Run presented by New Belgium Brewing will be held in downtown Bradenton on Friday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. Online registration and printable registration forms are available by visiting www.BradentonMarauders.com/PiratesandPrincesses5K. Early packet pickup will be available at Fit2Run Downtown Sarasota on April 7 from noon to close and at Pirate City April 8-9 from noon-6:00 p.m. each day. Race day check-in will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 11 will be a season kickoff bonanza at McKechnie Field. It is Pirates and Princesses night at McKechnie Field. Dressing up as a Pirate or a Princess for the night is highly encouraged. Activities in the ballpark include horse and carriage rides, free princess hair styling and makeup stations, and a costume parade for all the fans who dress up. The first 500 fans will receive a Marauders 2015 magnet schedule from Pepsi. After the game there will be spectacular postgame fireworks from Bright House Networks and Budweiser.

Every Saturday game this season is a Silverauders Club Saturday. The Silverauders Club for fans 60 and older is presented by Humana. For just $30, Silverauders Club members receive a ticket to every Saturday game, a food voucher for each Saturday game, a Silverauders T-Shirt, and the chance to take a postgame senior stroll around the bases. Each Saturday game will also feature Baseball Bingo presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs and PLS Print.

Opening night will also be the first night of the Lady Marauders Club. For $50, Lady Marauders receive admission to every Saturday night Bradenton Marauders home game, happy hour specials from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Saturday games, a club T-shirt, and invitations to special pre-game events before select Saturday games. Sunday, April 12 is the season’s first Family Fun Sunday presented by Kayem. All tickets and regular size Kayem hot dogs cost just $1. After the game all fans 12 and younger can take part in a children’s fun run presented by Mosaic. The game begins at 1:00 with gates opening at noon. There will be a pre-game Easter Egg Hunt on the field.

When purchased in advance, tickets for the regular season Marauders games cost $8 per seat for adult tickets in infield box, infield reserve, baseline box, and grandstand seats. Left field bleacher seats cost $6 per adult ticket. Tickets for children 12 and younger cost $7 in infield box, infield reserve, baseline box, and grandstand sections, and $5 per ticket in the left field bleachers. There is no change in day-of-game pricing for children’s tickets. The Marauders will offer a $1 military discount to anyone presenting a valid military ID at the McKechnie Field box office when purchasing tickets.

Marauders season and group ticket packages are on sale now. Marauders season tickets cost $300 for all 70 regular season home games. Season ticket holders receive numerous great benefits, including the ability to exchange unused past or future tickets to any future 2015 Marauders regular season game. Bradenton Marauders tab Michael Ryan as 2015 Manager

(Bradenton, FL) The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced their minor league managerial and coaching assignments for the 2015 season. The announcement was made by Larry Broadway, Pirates Director of Minor League Operations.

Michael Ryan will manage the Bradenton Marauders in the team’s sixth season. Ryan, the fifth manager in franchise history, succeeds Tom Prince, who will manage the Double-A Altoona Curve in 2015. Ryan managed the Class A West Virginia Power in 2013 and 2014. He helped guide the Power to a franchise record in wins in 2013. His two-year managerial record stands at 136-139. This is Ryan’s third season coaching in the Pirates organization.

Scott Elarton joins the Marauders as pitching coach for 2015. Elarton is in his second season with the Pirates organization. He instructed the Gulf Coast League Pirates hurlers in 2014.

Ryan Long will be the Marauders hitting coach for the second time in his coaching career. Long is in his seventh season with the Pirates organization. He last coached the Marauders in 2011, before spending each of the last three seasons in the same role with Altoona.

Miguel Perez rounds out the Marauders coaching staff. Perez was a member of Ryan’s West Virginia coaching staff last season.

Ryan, Elarton, Long, and Perez all bring Major League playing experience to the Marauders. Ryan played professionally for 15 seasons, including parts of five seasons in the Majors with the Twins and Angels. Elarton, a first round draft selection in 1994, spent 10 seasons in the Majors with Houston, Colorado, Cleveland, and Kansas City. Long played 10 professional seasons, reaching the Majors with Kansas City in 1997. He collected his first Major League hit against 2015 Hall of Fame inductee Randy Johnson. Perez highlighted a 12-year playing career by appearing in the Major Leagues with the Reds in 2005.

Ryan, Elarton, and Perez all played in the Florida State League during their minor league careers. Coming up in the Twins organization, Ryan spent the 1999 season with the Fort Myers Miracle. Elarton won 12 games with the Kissimmee Cobras in 1996 as a member of the Astros organization. Perez caught for the Sarasota Reds in 2005 and played in the Florida State League All-Star Game as a Cincinnati farmhand.

Justin Ahrens will be the Marauders athletic trainer. Alan Burr will be the team’s strength and conditioning coach.
The first Marauders game at McKechnie Field in 2015 is on Saturday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m.
