Sarasota Film Festival Announces New Programming Team for 2015 Edition

(Sarasota, FL) The Sarasota Film Festival is pleased to announce new programmers will join its staff ahead of the 17th Annual Festival this spring. Michael Dunaway will serve as Director of Programming along with programmers Maggie MacKay, Derek Horne and Caley Fagerstrom; Nadine Zylberberg will serve as the new social media manager.

“The Sarasota Film Festival is thrilled to welcome this outstanding creative team,” said President Mark Famiglio. “This talented group with varied backgrounds will allow the Festival to present the hearts and minds of independent films to our ever-expanding audience.”

Director of Programming, Michael Dunaway currently is the Editor of the Film Section of Paste Magazine, and the Founding Partner of Gasoline Films and of Poitier & Dunaway Motion Pictures.

Programmer, Maggie MacKay has over fourteen years experience as a festival programmer, including working at Sundance and AFI Fest, and most recently serving as Senior Programmer of LA Film Festival and Director of Nominations for the Indie Spirit Awards.

Programmer, Derek Horne has returned to his hometown of Sarasota after spending the last 11 years mentoring film students at Chapman University’s film school in California and prior to that working in film acquisitions in New York City. He has 20 years of experience working for various films festivals, including Sundance, Anaheim International Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and Santa Fe Independent Film Festival.

Programmer, Caley Fagerstrom, has previously worked at the Sarasota Film Festival in Programming, as well as serving as a Production Apprentice at the Telluride Film Festival.
Nadine Zylberberg currently serves as Social Media Manager for both the festival and The New Yorker Magazine.

The 17th Annual Sarasota Film Festival will take place April 10-19, 2015. Submissions for SFF’s Young Filmmaker Showcase are open until February 27, 2015.

Baltimore Orioles Return to CBS Radio’s 105.7 The Fan

(Sarasota, FL) The Orioles today announced a new multi-year deal naming CBS RADIO’s 105.7 The Fan (WJZ-FM) the flagship station of the Orioles Radio Network. Beginning in 2015, fans will be able to hear all 162 Orioles regular season games, select spring training contests from Sarasota and around Florida plus extensive Orioles programming on 105.7 The Fan and across the seven-state, 34-station Orioles Radio Network.

In addition to expansive game coverage and pre- and post-game shows, the new partnership will bring exclusive Orioles programming to 105.7 The Fan backed by the power of CBS RADIO’s cluster of stations, including Today’s 101.9 (WLIF-FM) and Mix 106.5 (WWMX-FM).

Orioles games will continue to be called by the broadcast team of Joe Angel and Fred Manfra, who return for their 12th season together on Orioles radio coverage.

The Orioles’ radio rights return to 105.7 The Fan, where the station had previously broadcast Orioles games between 2007 and 2010. Currently, 105.7 The Fan is one of the highest rated sports talk radio stations in the United States.

Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Tickets Go On Sale January 16

(St. Petersburg, FL) The Tampa Bay Rays today announced the process for purchasing single-game tickets to 2015 spring training games and introduced the new Spring Three-Game Pack. The Rays open their seventh spring training season on Thursday, March 5 against the Baltimore Orioles at 1:05 p.m. at Charlotte Sports Park in Charlotte County, Fla.

Single-game tickets will go on sale next week, based upon availability, according to the following schedule:

Friday, January 16: Spring training tickets will go on sale online to the general public exclusively at at 10 a.m.

Saturday, January 17: Spring training tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. via phone at 888-FAN-RAYS or 1-800-745-3000, online at, or at the following locations:

All Ticketmaster outlets

New for the 2015 season, the Spring Three-Game Pack will also go on sale to the general public exclusively through on Friday, January 16. This plan offers a ticket to three games at the special introductory price of $39 and includes a limited edition Charlotte Sports Park photo ball with purchase. This special item commemorates the USA Today 2014 Readers’ Choice Award for Best Spring Training Facility.

Single-game tickets will once again range in price from $10 to $29. Spring Training season ticket packages are available by calling 888-FAN-RAYS or visiting, and start at only $270 for the Rays 14-game home schedule at Charlotte Sports Park.

The first workout day for pitchers is Monday, February 23. The first full-squad workout is Saturday, February 28.

Bradenton Marauders to hold 2nd Annual Pirates and Princesses 5K Home Run April 10

(Bradenton, FL) The Bradenton Marauders will hold the second annual Pirates and Princesses 5K Home Run on Friday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. The race will be held in downtown Bradenton, starting and ending on Old Main Street. Participants are encouraged to dress as pirates or princesses for the event. A one-mile option is also available.

Race participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a ticket voucher for one ticket to the 2015 Bradenton Marauders home opener on Saturday, April 11 at McKechnie Field. The top male and female runner overall and in each age group (9 & Under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19 & 5 year age groups 20-24 to 80) will be invited to be recognized in an on-field ceremony at the opening night game the following evening. Chip timing will be provided by S2 Timing for the 5K Home Run only. A “Best Dressed” award will also be given to the participant with the best pirate or princess themed costume. All 5K and one-mile participants are invited to the post-race party on Old Main Street, and all runners age 21 and up receive one free draft beer sponsored by New Belgium Brewing.

Early packet pickup will be available at Fit2Run Downtown Sarasota on April 7 from noon to close and at Pirate City April 8-9 from noon-6:00 p.m. each day. Race day check-in will begin at 5:00 p.m. Participants must register by March 20 to guarantee preferred shirt size.


Pre-registration pricing is available until April 7. Adult registration costs $30 and children 12 and younger can register for $20. For the one-mile fun run, adult pricing is $25, children 12 and younger are $15. Prices increase by $5 for day-of-race registration. A portion of race proceeds will benefit Keep Manatee Beautiful.

The Marauders open the 2015 season against the St. Lucie Mets on Saturday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m.
